ガーマン記者がニュースレター「Power On」で、新しいAppleシリコンを搭載するM1チップ搭載13インチMacBook Proの後継モデルが登場すると伝えました。 同記者によれば、そのモデルはM2チップを搭載し、ディスプレイサイズは13インチのままとすることで14インチMacBook Proと差別化、ミニLEDバックライトも採用せず、ProMotion非対応とのことです。 同様の予想は先月、開発者のDylan氏（@dylandkt）が伝えていました。 同氏は、2022年下半期（7月〜12月）にM1チップ搭載13インチMacBook Proの後継となるM2チップ搭載MacBook Proが、M2チップ搭載MacBook（もしくはMacBook Air）と共に発表されると予想していました。 Dylan氏（@dylandkt）の情報では、M2チップ搭載MacBook Proの筐体は14インチMacBook Proと同じで、外部接続端子なども変わらないようです。
